The Peter and Alice von Loesecke Scholarship Foundation will award two 20,000 USD scholarships for candidates who best exemplifies the criteria for the award and continues to demonstrate during their MBA studies an interest in pursuing those objectives.
The award criteria will be socially motivated to include:
- A desire to return to a home country to grow a family business and create employment
- A desire to create a socially responsible entrepreneurial venture (e.g. micro lending, basic health care delivery in poverty stricken rural areas)
- A desire to work for an international lending organization providing loans for projects in developing countries
- A former volunteer or employee of a public service organization (e.g. veteran of the armed forces, peace corps volunteer, or an NGO)
Applicants are eligible if they attended one of the MBA Tour events after August 2008 and have been accepted to a university they met at the event. They must notify the university they will attend of their desire to be nominated for the scholarship by printing their scholarship ticket through The MBA Tour website and sending it to the university. Applicants can only submit their ticket to ONE university and a university can only nominate one candidate for the scholarship.
The Foundation will receive nominations from eligible MBA programs no later than by April 16, 2010.

Yes I would not recommend THE MBA TOUR at all I would certainly recommend QS MBA Tour instead. I visited both of them and the QS event was by far the more superior in terms of format, number of school and also school quality. Although THE MBA TOUR had a couple of good schools they were positioned next to schools that I had not heard of. At least at the QS MBA Tour all schools were quality controlled.

I also visited the QS Tour in 2009 and met many schools, it was the best MBA event I have been at.
I attended a QS World MBA Tour event in London a few weeks ago, and there were over 50 schools there from across the world. I was then sent a survey to fill out on topmba.com to make myself applicable. They have over 1.5 million dollars worth of scholarships and I think it is great that organisations like this and the one mentioned above are offering scholarships as I will need help to fund my own studies.

The event i went to only had 8 schools, not all of good quality and none of which were relevant to me! I guess that counts me out then!
