MBA graduates: Lacking experience for Wall Street

A new survey by Training The Street (TTS), a corporate training provider, found that MBA graduates needed more hands-on training to prepare themselves for Wall Street careers. The training company conducted its analysis amongst a training class of incoming associates at a global investment bank.

90 per cent of these new employees had an MBA. The company measured students' level of preparedness for real life work and found that 86 per cent of the participants did not feel "very prepared" when completing a mergers & acquisitions (M&A) analysis. 80 per cent of the participants did not feel "very prepared" when performing a leveraged buyout (LBO) analysis.
