Gisma: New MBA for young professionals

Starting in August 2009, the Gisma Business School in Hannover will offer a new part-time MBA program for junior managers in Northern Germany. Graduates of the “Young Professional MBA Program” receive an MBA degree from the Leibniz University Hannover.

"The format is specially designed for the requirements of young professionals. Instruction takes place on Fridays and Saturdays," explains Annegret Zurawski, Academic Director of the Gisma Business School. Thanks to the schedule, professional challenges and the program can be easily combined.

A one-week session at Purdue University in Indiana, US, is also integrated into the two-year program. In addition, the participants have the chance to participate in the exchange program of the full-time program at any time.

The program will be taught by international professors who are also teaching in the Gisma Business School's full-time and Executive MBA programs. Instruction is in English.

The Young Professional Program is - like the other Gisma MBA programs - a general management program and also offers numerous electives. At least two years work experience and a Bachelors degree (university or technical college) are requirements. The tuition fees are 28,000 euros.

Is there an update on that topic? As far as I’m informed they wanted to start in January now.

To us it sounds like they didn’t get enough applicants for the program.

Do you have any news on why the gisma weekend MBA has now been postponed shortly before the actual start date this August? It seems recruitment hasn’t gone well.  I was told by their admissions office that it doesn’t fit with the schedule of corporate partners or students….
