Dear Friends, it has been a very long time since I wrote. The MBA journey has been very hectic, filled with all new experiences, new interesting subjects, new interesting Professors and a lot of Company visits. The company visits have been one of the highlights. All this, a part of our Advanced Core Module.

It has been my dream since I was in college to do an MBA from a very reputed institute. But when I graduated and started my business of Printing and Packaging, I somehow forgot about it. But I guess, the dream came back to me and inspired me to take this decision and transform it into reality.

...the voice of Freddy Mercury sounds somewhere inside: “It’s the final countdown! tu-ru-ru-tu-tu”... <...> 8 months, enormous amount of subjects, never-ending chain of group works and assignments <...> fantastic 2 weeks study-trip to Beijing and Shanghai <...> In-company project <...> Giving back project <...> in South Africa <...>

  and knowing that if in a while I would go to Peru or Iceland, or Jordan, or Nigeria, or to almost anywhere else, I could just open a phone book and make a call to my classmate to have a cup of coffee together and remember good times we had at Vlerick – that’s inspiring!

Richard Feynman, the delightful physicist, once described his Nobel prize as one of the most irrelevant and boring things which happened to him. He was alluding to the rock-star groupie like behavior it tended to produce on an uncritical general populace and the demands it placed on an uncaring scientist.

But knowing that doesn’t prevent me from being terribly excited -  hey!!! I am going to meet a Nobel Laureate tomorrow!!!

At the height of the Cuban missile crisis and the World in the verge of a Superpower Nuclear showdown, Attorney General Robert Kennedy is supposed to have had a masterstroke. He suggested that the Americans respond to Soviet leader Khruschev’s October 26 letter which demanded a U.S. promise to not invade Cuba in return for removal of Russian missiles from the Island - and ignore the October 27 message which had also demanded the removal of missiles from Turkey. Yet another very old negotiating technique I came across during the second of the Negotiations Workshops during our HSG MBA.

In a blog post coming after a long break, Mad Bubbles shares updates about MBA application journey and tells about the great initiative called Forte Foundation.

At first I thought that having the same conditions ... we all ... will end up with more or less the same results. Nay! ...maybe I was just lucky not to face the failure… Maybe with the knowledge that I have now, I will be even more “lucky” ...in the future?

I decided to start the other way round and, so-to-say, reverse engineer the subject. That is why yesterday I took a piece of paper and just jotted down everything I wanted in my life starting with “Louis Vuitton L’Ingénieux handbag” and ending with “a feeling of contributing to something worthwhile”...
